Symantec/Norton AntiVirus/Systemworks/Internet Security customer service totally sucks!!!

So I renew my yearly subscription, they take my money (ok, my credit card info, close enough!) and send me a confirmation email -- and then the stupid software keeps INSISTING my subscription is about to run out! No matter how many times I do "check subscription status" (which it assures me 'yes, you've renewed' and then immediately tells me my antivirus subscription is about to expire), and no matter how many times I re-enter the renewal key they emailed me, and no matter how many times I reboot, or update, or reboot *and* update, or update *and* reboot, over and over, it keeps INSISTING my subscription is about to expire...

(But you wanna bet the credit charge for the subscription renewal goes through just fine, even while it's insisting I haven't renewed yet?)

And they've obviously gotten too big and too successful to care about customer support -- their online stuff refuses to work with Firefox but demands IE, their "priority code" for telephone support is a farce (takes at least 3 calls just to get to their automated menu, and then you just get put on hold until you get dropped... over and over and over...)

My handyman can call an 800 number and get a real engineer to answer questions about the temperature range Behr's outdoor paint can be used in, in just a few minutes, but Symantec/Norton can't manage to respond to customer problems over hours or days? Screw them.

I'm going looking for a replacement product from another company -- *ANY* other company!! <grumble, grumble, grumble>
