Angel and Jaime both jumped up and helped him to the couch they had been occupying. "Hey, man, you okay?" Gunn gave Jaime an incredulous look. "Would you be okay if you suddenly found out you have a child?" "I'd love it. I've always wanted kids." Faith, Cordy and Fred shared happy, relieved smiles. Now, Faith was more at ease about the news she had to share with him. Angel approached Gwen and gave her a quick hug. "Welcome back." She smiled through her tears. "Thanks. But, I thought...I was told that you were all dead." Angel nodded. "It's a long, long story. Here let me introduce you to everyone." "Solange, honey come over here. Mr. Angel is going to introduce us." The little girl shook her head. "I'm staying by my Daddy." She plopped down beside Gunn and took his hand. Gwen sighed. "Solange, you didn't ask permission to sit there. Perhaps Gunn doesn't feel well enough..." "No, let her stay." Gunn looked up. "I want her to stay." He smiled at Gwen letting her know that things might work out right after all. She nodded and smiled back at him. "Alright, every body. This is Gwen Raidon. She helped us out on a couple of cases before our Wolfram and Hart nonsense. Gwen, you know Fred, I don't think you ever met Wes but he and Fred are going to be married the Saturday after Thanksgiving." Fred nodded at Gwen then took Wes' hand and pulled him in close to her. She remembered what happened with Gunn and she still did not trust Gwen. "Congratulations." Gwen smiled at them briefly. She knew what was going through Fred's brain. "Do you remember Cordelia?" "Yes, but you seem different. You were kind of scary before." "So were you. How do you raise a child without, you know, electrocuting her?" Cordy was as direct as ever. "Charles and I found a device that counter acts the electrical charge in my body. I had it permanently implanted as soon as I found out about Solange." "Oh. Well that explains my other question." Cordy didn't have to elaborate on the 'How did you and Gunn manage to get together in the first place?' query. Angel took control of the conversation again. "You're also familiar with Lorne, aren't you?" He waited for the mutual nods. "The pretty lady with the laughing eyes is Faith, and the other two are Jaime and Allen Ross." "Hey. Um, I guess you've all figured out that my daughter's name is Solange. Solange Raidon-Gunn who will be four the Saturday after Thanksgiving." She smiled at Fred. "Are ya'll planning on staying around for very long?" Gwen looked at Gunn. "I'm not sure, yet." ///////////////////////////////////////////////////// People began to wander off. Fred offered to show Gwen and Solange to a room. Jaime watched Angel's surprised face. Fred hadn't asked anyone's opinion or even looked around to see if there were any objections. She just occampanied the other young woman upstairs chatting away as both were followed by Gunn, carrying his sleeping daughter. Angel looked around expecting to see other jaw dropped faces only to find himself alone with Jaime. He blinked deliberately several times. Jaime laughed. Angel focussed on him. "I'm not sure what just happened here?" An amused smile lit the beautiful face. "Ya want a full run down or just the highlights?" "I know WHAT happened. I just don't KNOW what happened." It was Jaime's turn to blink in confusion. "I'm clear on most of the night." "Really?" ""Yeah. I was here." "But, you weren't paying attention." "Sure I was." "Yeah, to me." "I...you.." Angel gulped. "How do you feel?" Jaime shrugged. "Like an idiot. With a huge headache." "Need me to get you something? Aspirin? Water?" "Naw, it's cool. So, why were you staring at me?" "I wasn't. Staring at you I mean." "No?" "No." Jaime had gotten up and was walking closer to Angel during their exchange. They now stood face to face, staring into each other's eyes. "You weren't staring?" "No. I was watching." Jaime raised an eyebrow. "Watching?" Angel nodded. Jaime reached out and ran a finger up the back of Angel's hand. "Watching me?" Angel gulped and nodded. The finger went higher. "Why?" Angel swallowed several times. The hand wrapped around the back of his neck and pulled him closer, the voice whispered low and sexy just a breath away from his lips, "I think I know why," "Well, they're all settled in." The men sprang apart at Fred's voice. TBC
