that affected the final form of the story.

In case you are interested, this story will be loosely followed by another
one, called The Ascendents, which is set in a Massachusetts Academy
attended by the New Mutants after the X-Men disappear into the Secret
Wars, never to be seen again. While this story was inspired by some ideas
from Patrick Sahlstrom, it is very different in tone, and will no dubt
attract many red warning labels.
