April 23/89

I saw Dr. Wayne and Dr. Ellwood again. We talked 
for a long time about my problem. I think that they 
can help me. Dr. Ellwood told me that Dr. Wayne is
very famous just visiting the hospital, but has 
enough influence to keep me away from Dr. Lovell.

April 25/89

I have been doing tests all day and yesterday. Dr. 
Wayne says that I am not schizophrenic, but he 
can't quite say what is wrong with me. When I talk 
to Dr. Wayne and Dr. Ellwood, it isn't like they 
are trying to fit me to some role that makes their 
lives easier. Instead, they really listen to me 
when I say what is bothering me, and I even feel 
that I can Look at them without feeling afraid that 
I might See something horrible there. Dr. Ellwood 
brought me some comics that didn't make sense at 
first. I started reading from the back page first 
and they suddenly made sense. Then I saw that they 
were written in Chinese or Japanese or something. I 
am scared about this. I can't describe how I can 
understand it, but I can. On one level, it's all 
unknown, but if I look at it long enough, all the 
meaning comes out, on different levels, like Monty 
Python. It was a story about a princess in a world 
in the future and her adventures during a war, but 
there was all this stuff about ecology in there 
too.
