Spoiler of Angel up to Destiny Buffy comes to LA but it may be too late Spike is with some one else, and Angel he is not the same as she remembers. NC-17 eventually but mostly less Feed Back- It is so good when you do. Spike walked out into the night air. "Bloody hell, even the stink of this rotten city is divine tonight. Guess that has to do with my furlough from the ghostly realm." Walking into the first bar he found, he ordered some Scotch and a beer. The place was an upbeat, trendy type of place. Girls, ones he could touch if he wanted, danced in almost nothing. God, it was good to be a real boy again. He slammed the first shot and washed that lovely burn down with the beer. The bartender gave him the total; it was then he realized he should have nicked Angel or Gunn's wallet. He made a big show of searching for his wallet as the bartender glared at him. "Sorry, mate, left it at the office. You know, just up the street, Wolfram and Hart?" Just then, an ivory-skinned beauty handed him a twenty. "Work for that law firm? What, in the mail room? 'Cause you look nothing like a blood sucking lawyer to me." Spike chuckled at that. "Well, looks can be deceiving, Miss...?" "I'll come by and collect that tomorrow. Pretty sure they'll know who the platinum-haired pale guy with the bruised face is at the front desk." She turned and sauntered back to a table full of others her age. Spike figured her to be about nineteen if that. He handed the bartender the twenty and told him to fill a glass with what was left of it. The noisy club was great. Spike watched his young benefactor and smiled. She was average in height and shapely. Her chestnut, shoulder-length hair was naturally curly and Spike could still smell the soap from her earlier bathing. It was a lovely lingering scent. Lot more meat on that one's bones than Fred or his Buffy. Thinking of the slayer, things didn't feel so great any more. He finished his drink and headed out. The pavement had that lovely hard feeling he had missed. Standing under a street lamp, he leaned against the lamppost and gathered all the things hitting his senses. The bruises on his face were actually a very welcome feeling. They signified so much, but he didn't want to think of that right now. He stood there for quite a while just feeling all those things one takes for granted. A scream woke him from his reverie. Following the scent, the lovely because it was present scent of fear, he found a vampire cornering a young, petite short haired girl in the alley behind the very club he had left. "Great, I could use this fight." The vamp turned around and stared at Spike. "Spike, damn. This is a shock. I heard you were dusted in Sunnydale. What the hell you doing here and without your little blonde protector who kept you on a leash? I mean the slayer, was it her that bit it- ha- bit it get..." "Well, you are a stupid git if you believe everything you hear." His senses suddenly overwhelmed and his anger almost too strong, Spike morphed into his demon façade. Simply grabbing the girl, he propelled her to the door, which she promptly disappeared through, and then Spike ran at the other vamp. All those punches he couldn't throw as a ghost connected perfectly with the vamp. Blood came from its nose, ear, and the cut on its forehead where Spike had thrown it against the wall. The vampire was cornered there with no escape and its fear now filled the air. "God, I missed that bleedin' fab smell of demon fear." Spike laughed out loud. Just then the door flew open and his benefactor from before ran out. "You son of a bitch, no one does that to my friend and gets away with it!" Stopping abruptly, she stared at the two demon-faced vamps. "Oh, shit, now I'll have to kill you, not just hurt ya." Spike took advantage of the interruption to morph back and at the same time twisted the other vamp's head off. Its dust flew out, covering the girl. "That won't save you. I still have to kill you. Guess I have to write off that twenty and the blood sucking was right, huh?" Spike had no time to answer before she threw a left hard into his jaw and he went flying. Standing and rubbing his jaw, he laughed. "I forgot, Willow's spell worked all too well. Bloody brilliant and powerful, that witch is." The young girl knit her eyebrows together. "How do you know Willow?" "How do you?" he returned She looked him up and down and then a thought hit her. He was that guy, the one on the website, the one who was supposed to have died saving them. Willow had told her about the Angel guy here in LA, but this had to be the one they called Spike, the great champion who had saved the earth, and saved the Slayer who made her own power possible. "There is a site, ah, about this power, or calling or what have you. Willow and I have been emailing. Are you- ah are you Spike? And how?" Spike approached her. "Long story there, not too interesting. So you are one of the many new slayers?" "Yeah, this summer I get to meet the others but I have to get through my junior year at UCLA first. They said you died. The amulet, the Hellmouth, it's all very epic and..." "Bloody amulet, wish I'd let Andrew wear it. Burned me to a cinder until it some how got back to where it came from and presto change-o, I'm a bloody ghost haunting the place. Then some more mojo and I am a real boy." "I'm Emma, and I'm very in awe of meeting you, you are like a legend... There's been a lot of talk about you by the others. Did you tell Willow or Faith or Giles or anybody your story? "Nope, not sodding planning to anyways. Kind of a shock, me back from oblivion. 'Sides the Slayer, I mean Buffy, well, she..." He put his head down and took a deep, audible breath. The girl finished his thought. "She gets to have a normal life. Well, sort of, I mean with all of us the world isn't on her shoulders any more. She can play. Willow said she's in Greece somewhere soaking up the rays." "There you have it. Something I won't be doing any time soon." Emma smiled and Spike realized how pretty she was. "Junior at university? I pegged you as younger." "Oh, well, you're right. I'm eighteen, just turned; I kind of started early." "Oh nice, another brainy one." Emma jutted her hip out and bent just enough for him to see her cleavage. "Lot more than brains in this package, and didn't you just tell me looks were deceiving?" "Well, Emma, I'd offer to buy you a drink but..." "Yeah, well, I have to get back to my friends. Dana was really shaken up." "Right then." "Spike, don't think I forgot. I'm a scholarship student and I will stop by for that twenty..." His eyebrow went up. That actually sounded quite lovely to him. TBC
