Subject: [OTL]: Poetry: "Eulogy for the Dream King" Date: Thu, 1 Jul 1999 09:43:58 -0700 (PDT) From: Jen X EULOGY FOR THE DREAM KING they're all asleep empathy strikes and i find myself shattered by -- into astonishing fragments of normalcy brought on by a deluge of star wars a flood of you scattered carcasses of dreams, now hollow, spirits torn away, their Brother pale -- morning so far and tomorrow's gone there's a road trip Dead ahead shattered by -- consequences of the actions taking years mixed into this pride of star wars and murder of you ravens are messengers, now useless, spirit takes the internet, her Brother gone -- love competes -- I wonder why none's called Love for isn't she a contemporary, too shattered by -- that thing Desire collecting on old favors reeking of fangirl's star wars (obi-wan kenobi) and desperate attempts at you I've been flailing, now hopeless, spirit can't swim on her own, no Brother here -- sneeze if you're listening caught a lite one at least that's all that tori said shattered by -- insistence upon my finding my voice interrupted to admiration of star wars precognitive echoes of you for i had my reasons, then thoughtless, spirit merging with mind, my Brother dear. Disclaimer: Sandman, the Dream King, and the rest of the Endless belong to Neil Gaiman & DC/Vertigo. Star Wars belongs to George Lucas, as does Obi-Wan Kenobi. (Rats.) Tori Amos belongs to herself ... possible paraphrases from "Caught a Lite Sneeze" and "Bells for Her" also Tori's. Please let me know what you think! === ~ JenX's Archive ~ ~ ~ "If you're going to have delusions, you might as well go for the really satisfying ones." -Marcus Cole, B5
