What I Must Do

Disclaimer: Hey, I mentioned no names! But everyone gets the feel of
characters (not TO feel, you sickos... ;), so I'm going to say they
belong to Marvel. There actually is a bit of background to this poem.
It's what I figure was going through Emma's mind when she was under
Onslaught's influence. Feeeedbaaack is gooood. :) Flames are bad.

What I Must Do

For the pain that's never lost
For the memories frozen in frost
For the shit that hits the fan
For the tears falling in your hand

You keep to me like a dying dream
A future we behold
But stays yet unseen
Hoist yourself to this world so new
You will die trying
You don't know what to do

Just like they did
Always like them
It's an unmerciful circle
That never seems to end
For me each night is terror
Cold darkness my only cure
I know I spend many nights
Weeping on my bathroom floor

I have done so many wrongs
But made so few things right
Cautious I am still
But it all ends tonight

I will not lose more lives
To my foolishness
You are but children--
You couldn't understand this
One day you'll look back upon this
And laugh and maybe understand
That when I did this for you
I was doing the best I can

Please forgive my actions
But it's what I must do

I have to do this without you

I've lived with them until now
..I can't take another year.
