Characters: Angelus/William

Genre: none really... character study maybe...

Warnings: none really

Disclaimer: they were abandoned and I adopted them before the shelter could neuter them.  I am feeding them and walking them and everything, can I keep them please?

A/N: I know it's been done before but this is my version.  Here's my reasoning: Each of Angelus' childer were very different to each other, Penn the puritan, Drusilla the mad woman.  If Angelus turned William there is no reason to assume he would have done the same to William as he did to Dru.
Why?  Well, from the beginning Spike showed no signs of madness or fear of Angelus.  He never submitted in their fights even when beaten.  He was pleased to see Angel in Sunnydale the first time and none of the flashbacks ever showed anything more than the usual vampire violence with Spike always smirking.  Except for in Destiny but he was really angry then.
I am going to incorporate as much of canon as possible with just a few tweaks of dialogue.
So what would be Angelus' reason for turning William?

* * * * *

Dru and Darla were beginning to drive him mad, sometimes he felt more like a butler to their whims than the powerful vampire he truly was.  What he really needed was more masculine company; Penn's constant mimicking had resulted in eviction from the nest.

Dru had been harping on at him to make her a playmate and he was about ready to agree just to shut her up about her dark knight.

He normally spent time considering his choice, breaking down their defences starting the shaping process before the turning but...

"Maybe I'll turn the next idiot who comes along," Angelus snarled at Dru's constant nagging.

A small blond shape bumped into Angelus, "watch where you are going," it ordered him in an upset tone.

Angelus' dark eyes followed the impudent boy as he stumbled down the street.  Drusilla's excited bouncing told him she liked what she saw.

"Fine then," Angelus kissed Darla lingeringly and then made an excuse to stride after the human determined to feed and be done with it.

Later there came voices and Angelus knew Drusilla was returning with the new one, the one he had turned to keep her happy and out of boredom.

Darla seemed to think there was more to it than that and they had fought before she had flounced off to her precious master.

"Angelus, who the bloody hell is Angelus?" a petulant voice asked Dru.

He moved through the doorway and the small pale vampire froze.  Their eyes locked and he knew the boy's demon recognised him.

"Look," Dru cooed, "its called Willy."

"William," he corrected her never taking his eyes off Angelus.

"Where's Darla, I want Darla to see William," Dru demanded.

Angelus could see that leaving Dru to watch the boy rise had not been the best idea.  He had done so to placate Darla who did not approve of him turning another without her permission.

Now it appeared the young vampire had fixated on Dru rather than his proper Sire.

"Darla and I had a little spat.  Her precious master sent for her you know Darla, always the master's pet," he answered her.

"Poor Angelus..." Dru crooned.

"Ah don't fret Dru.  We'll make up always do, after a little tit for tat," he touched his cheek where her fingernail had carved through skin, "shouldn't let that spoil our fun here."

He moved closer to the still wary vampire assessing his choice trying to decide if his decision had been a good one.

"So I turned this... William into one of us for you," he watched as William's eyes widened at his words, "another rooster in the hen house," he grabbed the small hand and thrust it into the rising dawn, "do you have any idea what it's like having nothing but women as travel companions night in, night out."

William wrenched his hand free; "touch me again," his voice was defensive but uncertain.

"Don't mistake me I do love the ladies," Angelus continued as if William had not spoken, "it's just lately I've been wondering what it would be like to share the slaughter of innocents with another man," conveniently forgetting about Penn he put his own hand out into the light holding it there until it started to smoke, "don't think that makes me some sort of deviant do you?" he challenged the young vampire calling to the demon he could see in the blue eyes.

William stared hard at him and then thrust his hand back into the light never looking away from him.  Slowly they started to grin a moment of masculine understanding shared.

"I like this one," Angelus laughed, "you and me we're going to be the best of friends," he declared as William joined in the laughter.

Angelus was angry, he had turned William to be his hunting partner, his companion in the night but all the boy could do was harp on about Drusilla and how she was his destiny.

Angelus hated that little enthralling trick she used even if he did make good use of it when he wanted.  It was time William learnt his place in the family.

"Did you miss me pretty William?" Dru asked the shattered vampire.

"Sure he did," Angelus smirked, "after all you're his destiny."

"That's so sweet," Dru looked at William oddly.

Angelus drew himself out of Dru and tucked himself away as William flung angrily at him.

"Don't touch her," the blond ordered ignoring Angelus' rights.

"Little bit late for that Willy and I really don't like it when you raise your voice to me," Angelus snarled asserting his rights.

"Why did you?  You knew... you knew that she was mine," William was practically crying.

"Did I?" Angelus smirked again.

"You bloody well knew," William swung at Angelus who swatted him into a tumbled heap.

"Just don't get it now do ya?" Angelus picked him up bodily and sat him down next to the corpse of the ambassador, "well you're new and a little bit dim so let me explain how things are now," Angelus continued cruelly, "there's no belonging or deserving anymore.  You can take what you want have what you want but nothing is yours, not even her."

"You're wrong," William insisted, "We're forever Drusilla and me."

"Are we?" Dru watched in fascination from the doorway.

"Are... still the poet now aren't we Willy," Angelus mocked.

"William," he insisted still not backing down to his Sire.

"Right, William," Angelus ground out, "now you really should find a new name for yourself it just doesn't strike the right note of terror," he got up and went over to Dru, "tell ya what, William, if you want her come and take her," he challenged.

With a despairing roar William launched himself at Angelus who easily fended off the young vampire.

Angelus laughed, William would learn his place he would see to that before Darla returned and he would enjoy doing it too.

As he pummelled the still resisting William into the floor Angelus knew he would certainly not be bored by this one, not for a long time.

THE END

A/N: I know, nothing new was said but it suits my vision of their relationship better than Angelus beating William and raping him.  Sure they did the nasty (I am a spangel girl after all), just not then.
