A/N: I just couldn't leave it alone, sorry. I promise to stop now.

10. Epilogue

"Do we have to go?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"Because."

"Because why?"

"Because we were invited."

"That's not a good enough reason."

"Shut up Spike." Angel sighed "Harmony wants us there, so we are going."

"It is going to be bad, Angel, really bad."

"I know. But it is her graduation and it is important."

Spike sighed loudly and stared out of the window.

"Just remember Spike, if we go to the ceremony we do not have to go to the celebration dinner." Angel reminded him.

Spike shuddered, the memory of blood casserole still made him feel queasy.

"But I don't want to go" he complained again, "they are all going to be there."

There was a snicker from the backseat. Spike glared at Wesley, "don't you bloody start Percy, your just indulging in Harry Potter fantasies with this fancy College of Magic."

"This is going to be a valuable observation opportunity, that I did not want to miss." Wesley stated.

"Only cause his bloody watcher curiosity overpowered his natural fear." Spike flung over his shoulder to the man in the backseat.

"This is going to be fascinating Spike, just finding out whether the soul restoration spell works is going to make it worth it." Wesley added with suppressed excitement in his voice.

"You don't have to make a speech though, do you?" Spike moaned. "You just want to see your 'nursie' again," he added with a smirk.

"Shut up Spike, that was just a simple slip of the tongue," Wesley responded defensively.

"I wish you guys would stop telling me to shut up," Spike complained.

"We would if you would" Wesley retorted.

Angel sighed and tugged at his shirt collar for the twentieth time and questioning his sanity at agreeing to attend this night and to travel to the event with Spike and Wesley.

"You're not the only one that has to make a speech and Wesley did volunteer to come, Spike" Angel added desperately trying to inject some calm into the conversation.

"Don't even try and pretend you are enjoying this peaches" Spike spotted the gesture "you're just relived that none of this lot can effect the prophecy."

"Wesley did confirm that the prophecy refers to champions specifically, yes." Angel agreed.

"I cannot even imagine any of the VISS members averting an apocalypse, starting one maybe..." Wesley mused.

Spike snorted then fell silent as they pulled into the College car park.

All three men stood by the car staring up at the large imposing building. The car park was full of station wagons and sensible people movers and they spotted several of the fanged smiley face bumper stickers.

On reflex Angel looked around to check the bumper of his car, he had had to remove several from it after the disastrous dinner party and he dreaded finding more.

Without realising it, the three men had drawn closer together. They looked at each other before Wesley shrugged and headed in.

Fighting the urge to take Spike's hand Angel followed. Spike reached for a cigarette but realising he would not be able to finish it he hurried to catch up with the others.

Closing with Angel he could hear him muttering under his breath,

"Please let there be an anti-vampire spell, please let there be an anti- vampire spell."

"Of course there isn't you pillock, not with Harmony and the others in there." Spike whispered back. "But there might be an anti-evil spell on the door, think bad thoughts Angel, quickly." He added as the doors swung open in front of them.

They paused for a moment hoping for something, anything. But there was nothing, and the champions steeled themselves for their greatest challenge to date...the graduation of the first class of VISS.

The doors swung shut behind them and it was too late...

FIN (again)

Bwahahaha! And Joss thinks he can write a cliffhanger. (nah, I just wanted to answer a few questions and leave myself open for a sequel)
