Crowley replied with sarcasm. They argued, but it was already too late: the offer stood. Crowley finds Aziraphale when the pain of separation swallows his pride. Sometimes, they end up in bed, words and arms and sheer goodness unable to stop his tremors. Sometimes, they make a flat surface by accident and Crowley licks blood and heaven off his teeth for months. After six thousand years' absence, the angel *is* heaven to Crowley. He tries not to think what this makes him to Aziraphale. 23/12/03 MC HURT Crowley once challenged Aziraphale "you don't really mean anything," arms folded and his nails digging in hard. Aziraphale repeated his offer. They argued, but some ends are ineffable: the challenge stood. Aziraphale finds Crowley when the drive to console exceeds his caution. Sometimes, he can do nothing more than hold on to Crowley as nausea washes in rising tides. Sometimes, their human bodies join in human ways and sinking onto Crowley feels like falling down upon a sword. After six millennia, the demon is still a warning for Aziraphale. He tries not to forget what this makes him to Crowley. 13/01/2004 MC -- Two elephants walk into a bar, and order a sandwich. --
