Subject: START OF A NEW STORY - SHADOWCAT FANFICTION ******************************************************************** And now, the beginning of "Bounty Hunter 2 - Snake Eyes"!!! Prologue - Bounty Hunter 2 - Snake Eyes by steshu (steshu87@home.com) "I've got to get away," Pablo Escuevda exclaimed to himself as he dashed down the dark, unlit alley. A few minutes ago, he was considered the toughest drug dealer in all of Florida; but now, all that toughness had gone out the window with the arrival of a military team of some type. His plans to cash in on a twenty five million dollar drug deal were now thwarted by this group's appearance. "Government agents! Freeze where you are," shouted an authoritative female voice, coming at him from behind. Pablo's men, three in all, had scattered like cockroaches when the authorities arrived on their deal unexpectedly. He could hear the radio of the person chasing him squawking out the increasing odds against him. "I've got one in custody," a deep male voice barked. "Copy that, I got one too," sounded another man's voice through the static. "Get your ass down now! I have a third in custody," chirped a woman's voice. "Where's number four?" "I'm hot on his tail," replied the voice behind him, that of a woman who appeared calm and collected, and seeming not out of breath from the chase so far. "Air unit one, you got an eye on us?" "Sure do, sugah. I'm about to make my appearance," stated a female voice with a southern sounding accent on the other end. "Yeah, let's see you stop me with a helicopter," Pablo shouted back over his shoulder at the woman chasing him. As the woman passed through the light of a distant streetlight, he could make out a silhouette of her. The woman appeared to be of average height, with what appeared to be long hair bouncing off of her shoulders. Better yet, there didn't appear to be any weapons in her hands. "Or even you, bitch." As he turned back forward, he was suddenly knocked off his feet and on to the ground as he collided into an object in front of him. "Damn it, I ran into a wall," he thought to himself. "Better watch where you are going, sugah," came the reply from the wall. Pablo glanced up to see a female figure standing over him, her arms crossed against her chest. She was dressed in a green and yellow outfit, with a dark-colored jacket standing open over the top half of it. "You might get yourself hurt." "What the ...," he exclaimed, pushing himself back across the ground in shock. As he backed away, the figure revealed itself to be a woman of muscular build, her long curly hair blowing gently in the evening breeze. What little light there was made it seem to him that her hair at the top was gray or silver in color. "Who the hell are you?!" "Her name is Rogue, and I wouldn't piss her off if I were you," came a voice directly behind him now. He looked up to see where the voice came from only to see that it was the woman who had been chasing him. He was stunned to see the youthful appearance of the woman above him. Her hair hung down in dark curls over her shoulders, and he noticed the lean, athletic build of her body, accented by the dark outfit she wore. "Now, Pablo, it's time we have a little talk." "How do you know my name?" "Mister, Shadowcat knows all of her enemies by name," Rogue replied as she bent down and grabbed the drug dealer by his silk shirt, flinging him up against a nearby brick wall. "Get your hands off me, bitch," he shouted with what breath he had left in him, swinging his arms out to try to push Rogue away. "Nobody touches Pablo Escuevda unless I tell them to!" "You aren't playing nice, Pablo," Shadowcat replied, waving a gloved finger playfully at him. "You shouldn't get smart with SMART agents. Now," her voice turning more serious, "turn around and spread your legs. You are under arrest." "I'll get smart with you, bitch," he angrily replied, lunging out to grab the young woman. Instead of grabbing Shadowcat's arm, he fell harmlessly through her phased body to the gravel ground below. "Holy crap," he exclaimed, rolling over to his back quickly. "Who the hell are you people?" "We are members of the Superior Mutant Advanced Response Team," Shadowcat stated factually, "and Pablo Escuevda, you are now in our jurisdiction. You are under arrest for the production and the intent to distribute narcotic products to the population, and that, my friend," she sneered, bending down to look him directly in the face, "is a no-no in my book and with the federal government. Rogue, book him." "With pleasure, sugah," she smiled, picking the drug dealer off the ground with one hand. "It's not over yet," he roared, reaching quickly into his jacket for his trusty guns, which have never left him down. Unfortunately for him, there is always a first time. "Looking for these, Pablo," Shadowcat smiled, waving the two guns in front of him. "I don't think you will need them where you are going." Just then, a petite blond hair woman, dressed in an outfit similar to Rogue and Shadowcat, appeared along with a few of the SHIELD agents they had teamed up with. "We got the other three in custody," replied the woman as she approached Shadowcat. "It looks like we got them all then," she stated, nodding towards the defeated man swinging helplessly in Rouge's raised hand. "Yes, we sure did, Radar. Rogue, hand him over to the SHIELD agents. Our job here is done. Ladies," she boasted, a smile crossing her face, "mission accomplished." Meanwhile, half a world away, unknown to them, their next assignment was just getting under way. ***********************************
