From: swpwarrior@aol.com (Swpwarrior) Subject: X-Men: Dawn of Ascension Notes Date: 27 Jul 1997 03:42:51 GMT Lines: 102 Hello, again. Some of you may have read my previous fan-fic; Onslaught: Redemption. Built into it were all the seeds for a natural sequel if in fact I enjoyed myself during the experience... Guess what? I did! So here it is. The basic premise of this story revolves around a somewhat "numb" U.S. and Earth in the wake of Onslaught and the X-Men's role in what are going to be perceived as the last days of man-kind. Simply put... The Apocalypse is coming. I am picking up directly from O:R's Epilogue which acted as a re-written Uncanny X-Men #337. Chapter One of DA acts as a new version of X-Men #57, Chapter Two as Uncanny X-Men #338 and so on for about 24 installments until I reach what would be the milestone Uncanny X-Men #350 at the climax of the story. You may read the accompanying "Reader's Guide" post to get yourself acquainted with this universe. For your convenience, O:R's Epilogue is reposted here, while the entirety of O:R, should you wish to read it is archived at: http://www.byu.edu/~kab/fan-fic.htm and... http://web2.spydernet.com/lori/x-men.htm Just as in O:R, this story will be written in plot and script form. Inside the -- { -- means panel description. Just as in O:R I will be writing this story as a realistic potrayal of the X-Men in the mainstream Marvel Universe. There is the same goal that this story could be realistically published by Marvel. There will be no mass killings. And no one will return from the dead. Unlike O:R, however I will be introducing new characters occasionally as would be normal in the X-Universe. I return to law school in three weeks and will continue to work part-time during the year, so my output may be sparadic at times. All I ask is that you be patient. :-) I THRIVE on feedback. ALL comments, criticisms and compliments are very welcome and encouraged. This story features the X-Men and related characters, which are trademarks of Marvel Comics. Lauren Innis, Marie Renault and anybody else I make up along the way is trademark of me. This is an unauthorized work and no profit is being made on this work. This work is copyright of me; Aaron Michiel. I hope you enjoy! *Citations* [1] "The Twelve" are twelve legendary, strong mutants around whom man-kind will rally in "the coming storm" to its ultimate triumph or its final defeat as revealed in X-Factor #68.
