Subject: [OTL]: [SC][Dande's Birthday Fic!] A Difference of Opinion [PG-13] Date: Fri, 18 Aug 2000 12:26:16 -0700 From: Trisha Lynn Reply-To: outsidethelines@topica.com To: outsidethelines@topica.com A Difference of Opinion By Trisha L. Sebastian Summary: It's a Dande birthday fic, one day late, starring Remy LeBeau, Jean Grey and Pete Wisdom. Slight sexuality involved, nothing above PG-13 language and innuendo. Disclaimer: Pete, Remy and Jean belong to Marvel and I'm not making any money off of this. This is dedicated to Dande and Lise, but mainly Dande, as it was her birthday yesterday! More detailed credits go at the end. "Jean, you know you're the best gal in the entire world, but if you don't give me that drink, I'm going to have to kill you." Jean laughed as she sauntered her way through the CafT holding two whiskey sours. She plunked one down in front of the Cajun and took a hearty gulp of her own. "Happy anniversary, chere." He raised his glass slightly and drained it. "Another." "What's wrong, Remy?" Jean didn't pry into Remy's thoughts as she would have with Scott. A table of those worthies were currently sending scathing glances her way and she blew them a mental raspberry. "She's working as hard as she can, you know. Be surprised that she even bothered to pick you up at all." "Oh, it's not Dande that I'm mad at," Remy replied. "It's HER." "Who?" Remy nodded over to the Corner, where Pete Wisdom sat with another Remy sharing a cigarette. The looks they were giving each other were neutral, tinged with mutual disrespect and yet it was almost indecent the way they passed the cig back and forth as they talked. Their Writer sat next to them, chatting animatedly with Dandelion. "Rumor has it that she was inspired by one of Dande's fics. Don't know if it's true, but there was that pair she did of me and the Brit in Casablanca." Remy shuddered. "Now that wasn't a bad gig, but Pete?" He turned to Jean. "You know I have more taste than that." Jean's only answer was a resounding peal of laughter. ^_^ "Look at the way she's putting her arm around him," Remy said, nodding his head towards Jean. "It's almost indecent." "Well, mate, you are the team leader now, as I understand it," Pete said, taking a long drag, the glowing tip precariously close to the filter. "Better than what I've got. At least you don't got a hole in your head." "Gimme that." Remy reached over to pinch the waning cigarette from Pete, and ended up putting it out. "Shit!" "Relax, we got plenty more where that came from." Pete reached into his jacket pocket and his face fell. "You got the last pack, right?" "Naw, I gave it to you last night." Pete sighed. "Well, mate, that's the last of it, then." He playfully leered at Remy. "Wanna go for more?" "Shut up, Wisdom." "Tell me, what's the real reason why you're acting like a jealous tart?" Remy glared at Pete. "You're one step closer to getting a charged card up your ass." "Is it the team leader gig? Or the fact that they're taking bits from that other fic and making you the leader of the Thieves?" Pete leaned back in his chair, already having gotten accustomed to his Mainstream's problems. "That's not it at all." Remy looked at Jean and himself again. "What does he see in her? I know I've got more taste than that." Pete stared at him in amazement, and began to laugh. CREDITS: Dande's Remy and Jean are from the Alchemy arc. Lise is the other Writer mentioned, and her Remy and Pete are from the series of fics that follow "Nameless, Then and Now". Luv ya both!
