This story came out of the fact that a lot of the time when I was younger, my brother would always have different talks with his friends, and he would push me away so I wouldn't hear them. Now that I'm older, I witnessed one of his big-kid conversations since we have a lot of mutual friends, and it went a little like this... Disclaimer: NOT MINE. Marvels. Mature Conversations Lee Tybird Trumpetlee@aol.com They sat in a circle. It was far off from the main group of people that were invited to the get-together held at Xavier's in Westchester. They decided they wanted to talk about more private things. They'd done their catching up and such, and decided they didn't want to expose their other friends to their more... mature conversations. "I wanna know. Where was it?" "Kitty, it's a bit private. I mean, why are we talking about where we lost our..." she coughed a little, "virginity with each other anyway?" Kitty looked at her best friend with hurt eyes. "Because it's the subject." Illyana smiled. "I'd like tell you in a more private place without the rest of these people around. Honest." "It was Limbo." "BOBBY!!!" Illyana hit her boyfriend on the arm. "I wasn't gonna tell them!!" Bobby smirked at her. "We just think differently then, don't we?" Illyana sighed and rolled her eyes. "Since you guys know about that, we get to hear about your little adventures." Alex smiled at his memory as it rolled to the front of his mind. He looked at his girlfriend, Lorna, then back at the group. "Scott and Jean's bedroom." "Alex!" Lorna cried. "Why can't you keep your big mouth shut?" Alex looked at her with dignity. "I'm rather proud of it." Bobby's jaw dropped. "Alex Summers, do you realize how unworthy I am of you?" "Yes. Yes I do." He turned to Pete. "Spill, Wisdom," he said, pointing with his bear bottle. "You and Pryde. Where?" Pete looked at Kitty with sort of a half grin plastered on his face. "Doug's gonna get mad." "Am I?" Doug asked. He was sitting with Rahne's head in his lap. "I won't ground you. Promise." Kitty turned red. "The back of the Runner." The assembled group stared. "WHAT??" "We were on our way back to Muir from Dream Nails..." Kitty began. She trailed off. "...Things, well, picked up," Pete finished. Alex shook his head. "Never again. Never again will I ride in that thing. I couldn't do it without either laughing my ass off, or puking my guts out." Doug looked at them with a pale face. "You guys are so damn nasty." "Oh yeah?" cried Kitty. "What about you, Mr. 'Ah! My Virgin Ears!'?" Doug looked down at Rahne. She looked up at Doug. He smiled. "The Medlab on Muir." Rahne turned bright pink. It was very visible, even in the setting sun. Moans arose from the group. "That's even worse than Kitty and Pete!!" Kurt and Amanda sat down. "What's the subject?" Amanda asked. "Where did we lose our virginity with each other," Yana replied, taking another sip from her bear. Kurt looked at Amanda with eyes that said "Please. Please Liebchen, don't say anything." Amanda smirked. "We were about nineteen," she began. "Amanda," Kurt moaned. "Shut yer yap, Fuzzy," said Kitty. "We wanna hear this." "And, well, everyone else was out," Amanda went on. "Well, he felt daring, so I went along with it." "And?" asked Lorna. Amanda began to laugh. "The big top." "Stands or center ring?" Pete asked. "The latter." The group broke out laughing. Bobby looked at Illyana. "I wanna try something," he said. "Here?" she asked in mock surprise. "In front of everyone?" The rest of the group stifled their laughs. Bobby shook his head as he took another sip of his bear. "No, I'm serious," he said. "Have you ever seen that episode of Ally McBeal where Richard massages Ling somewhere in her knee pit?" "Yeah," said Alex. "You watch Ally McBeal?" asked Kurt raising an eyebrow. "It's a team thing," Alex replied. He paused. "For morale." "Sure, Alex," said Amanda in a flat tone. "Right." "I'm serious!!" "And so am I," said Bobby, slightly annoyed. "I wanna see if that whole knee thing works." Yana stared at him. "Why?" "I'm curious." She held out her leg. "In the words of Pete, 'Give it your best shot, Slaphead.'" Bobby reached out under her knee. After about five seconds, Illyana went pale, her jaw dropped, and she gave out a slight gasp for breath as she stared off into space. Doug giggled. "I think she's gone catatonic." It was at that point that Scott and Jean wandered over. "How is everything?" asked Scott. Alex looked up at his older brother. "Fine, Scott." "Then why is Yana catatonic?" Bobby pulled his hand away from Yana's knee. She stared at him and blinked. "Your room. Midnight." She got to her feet, smiled warmly at Scott and Jean and walked over to the refreshment table to talk to Sam. The four men, Kurt, Doug, Pete, and Alex, all stared at the grinning Bobby. Alex shook his head. "Robert Drake, we are not worthy." "Yeah," Doug, Kurt and Pete agreed. Scott cleared his throat. "Is everyone all right over here?" he asked. Bobby sighed in content. "We're fine, Scott." Pete shook his head in disbelief. He turned to Kitty. "Would you kick my arse if I..." Kitty blinked at her boyfriend. "I would if you did right now." "Doesat mean later?" "Yes. Yes it does." Scott shook his head and walked away. Jean stayed for a moment. "He still doesn't understand the concept of playing." The group laughed, and went on with their... mature conversations.
