This just came out while I was having a conversation with some friends, sure it's a bit weird, but most of my stuff is. Lee Thanks to my brother for the Lyrics to "Still You Turn Me On," a few key lines, and how you say good-bye in German (I take French. They don't teach German in my stupid excuse for a High School). Disclaimer: None are mine. They are Marvel's. No money involved. Please don't sue me. When Your Friends Have to Say it For You... Lee Tybird Trumpetlee@aol.com "She was mopin around long before you got here Jubilee," said Logan, lighting up a cigar. "She's been depressed ever since she got here. The elf said somethin' about a break-up." Jubilee paced around in front of him. "Well, we gotta do something." "We can't do anything if we don't know what's wrong," Logan replied. "Well, she obviously broke up with a guy," Jubilee concluded. "He's probably a Brit, an' if she's moping about it, she misses him. So we gotta play match-makers incorporated and get 'em back tagether." "We don't even know who this guy is, Darlin." "His name is Peter Wisdom," said a voice from the door. Kurt Wagner walked in. "Frankly, I think that getting them back together is a very good idea, Jubilee. I miss the old Kitty." "What do we do?" asked Jubilee. "First," said Kurt, "I need to get in touch with Meggan." Braddock Manor... *RING* "Hello?" "Meggan!!" "Kurt!" Meggan cried. "It's so good to hear from you. Brian and I miss you and Kitty and Piotr so much. How are you?" "I'm fine," Kurt replied. "Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Kitty." "What's wrong?" Kurt sighed. "She misses Pete. Even though she won't admit it. She does." "We'll have to do something about that then, won't we?" Kurt smirk. "Ja." "Who else is plotting with you?" Meggan asked anxiously. "Jubilee and Logan." "Put Jubilee on the line, will you?" Meggan asked. "From what Kitty told me, she seems like the plotting type." "Hold on." "Yeah?" "Hello, Jubilee, I'm Meggan." "Hi! What do you want?" Meggan smiled to herself. "You want to get Pete and Kitty back together?" Brian came into the room. "Why? He's disgusting." "Hold on, Jubilee." Meggan turned to Brian. "Number one, Brian Braddock, it isn't polite to eavesdrop. Number two, Kitty and Pete make a very good couple, and they miss each other. Now, go away. I'll be up to bed in a bit." Brian smirked. "All right." Meggan rolled her eyes as Brian walked upstairs. "Still there Jubilee?" "Yeah." Meggan smiled. "I've got an idea. It's sneaky, and devious, and I believe that the three of you over there will love it." "Hold on," said Jubilee. "I'll, like, put you on speaker phone." She stayed silent for a moment. "Okay, you're all set." "Here's my plan..." Pete Wisdom's flat, the lower side of London... Pete Wisdom sat with his paper work, a flask of scotch and a cigarette. The radio blared out "Layla" by Eric Clapton. He sang along with the guitar solo. When it ended he was a bit sad. He liked that song. He sighed and did more paper work. "And welcome to the BBC request line. This next one is from Kitty to Pete. Kitty says she's sorry for what she did, and she wants you back, Pete." Pete looked up. He raised an eyebrow. "No." The radio began to play "Through The Long Night," by Billy Joel. Cold hands, sad eyes, the dark Irish silence. It's so late, but I'll wait, through the long night with you. With you. Warm tears, the bad dreams. Soft trembling shoulders, Your Fears, but I'm here, Through the long night with you. With you. What has it cost you. I almost lost you a long, long time ago, oh, You should have told me, but you had to bleed tonight. All your past sins, sins past. You should be sleeping. It's all right, sleep tight, Through the long night with me. With me. No, I didn't start it, You're broken hearted from a long, long time ago, oh, The way you hold me is all that I need tonight. And it's so late, but I'll wait, Through the long night with you. With you. Pete looked at the radio. "Sod you," he said, and let his head drop and bang on the desk he was sitting at. He looked up for a moment and glanced at the phone. "Should I?" he asked himself. He shook his head. "It wasn't fer you, mate. Ferget about her." Kitty Pryde's room in Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Westchester New York... Kitty sat with her book. It was open, she was looking at it, but she wasn't reading it. She was lost in thought as the radio played "Closer," by Nine Inch Nails. The music stopped, and the announcer came on. "Hello from the request line. This next one is from Pete to Pryde. Pete says he's very sorry, and he wants Pryde to forgive him. So here's "Still You Turn Me On," by Emerson Lake and Palmer. Kitty looked up from her book. "No." Do you want to be an angel, Do you want to be a star, Do you want to play some magic on my guitar? Do you want to be a poet, Do you want to be my string? You could be anything. Do you want to be the lover of another Undercover? You could even be the man on the moon. Do you want to be the player, Do you want to be the string? Let me just tell you something, It just don't mean a thing. You see it really doesn't matter when you're buried in disguise by the dark glass on your eyes, though your flesh has crystallized; Still .... you turn me on. Do you want to be the pillow where I lay my head, Do you want to be the feathers lying in my bed? Do you want to be a colour cover magazine; create a scene. Every day a little sadder, A little madder, Someone get me a ladder. Do you want to be the singer, Do you want to be the song? Let me tell you something you just couldn't be more wrong. You see I really have to tell you that it all gets so intense. From my experience It just doesn't seem to make sense, Still .... you turn me on. Kitty looked at the phone. She reached over and grabbed it. She dialed up Pete's number. Pete's flat... "Damn it. C'mon, Pryde, pick up the phone." Westchester... "Damn you, Wisdom! Why is the line busy??!!" Downstairs... Logan's ears perked up. "It's workin'." Kitty's room... She heard the call waiting beep. She pressed the flash button on the phone. "Hello?" "Kitty?" "Pete?" she asked in surprise. "I was trying to call you." "Yeah, well, I got ta ya first didn't I?" Kitty sighed. "Pete, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you so badly." "Yeah, me too, I was such a git to walk out like I did. I'm sorry." "I love you so much." "Yeah, I luv you too." From the doorway came a large amount of snickering and two hands hitting each other. Kitty looked over to the door. "It was really sweet of you to request a song for me, Pete." Pete stayed silent for a moment. "Uh, I didn't. I thought you requested a song fer me." They stayed silent. "I'll call you back, Pete." She hung up the phone and looked over to the door again. "I swear, when I get my hands on you three..." Jubilee looked over at Kitty, who had murder in her eyes. "Uh-oh. I think we're, like, dead." Kurt looked at Kitty. "Now Katzchen, we were just trying to make you happy..." Kitty got up off her bed and walked over to the trio. "I'm giving you a ten second head start. Then, you're all going to die." Logan shook his head. "Y'know, I taught her. I don't think she's bluffin." "Auf wiedersehen!" Kurt cried, and Bamfed away. Kitty turned to Logan and Jubilee. Logan shook his head. "I hate to admit it Jubilee, but she c'n snap you like a twig, an' phase my brain out of my head. Let's get the hell outta here!!" End
