No Money The Good News Is That Nobody Dies Part 3/3 Lee Tybird Trumpetlee@aol.com "You guys are lying. This did not happen." Kitty sighed. "We're telling the truth, Raye. This is how it happened." "But how would you have known to wear combat boots?" asked Joey. "You're not a psi." Kitty shrugged. "I don't like heels." "But the observation of Pete looking like James Bond was correct," said Hank. "It was remarkable." Doug walked up behind Pete. "Say goodbye to it, Bond," he whispered in his ear. "Doug," said Pete. "I'm gonna kill you." "So," said Connie. "Keep going." "What did happen after that?" asked Amanda. "I don't remember." "That's cause you passed out, Darlin," Logan informed her. Amanda blinked. "Oh." She went on eating her ice cream. "If I do so recall," said Nate, "this is where we found Dom and Betsy." "Oh dear," said Betsy. "I certainly did make a fool of myself, didn't I?" "Yes," said Jono. "Yes you did." Paige hit Jono in the arm. "Oww!" Nate cleared his throat. "So, like we said, Amanda passed out. And guess who got stuck carrying her?..." ****** "Dammit!" Nate cried. "Amanda!" "Shh," said Pete. "I hear something." Logan sniffed the air. "I smell something." Nate did a quick psi scan. "Dom?" "Nate?" asked a very happy voice. Out of the shadows came a staggering Domino with a bottle in her hand. Behind her came Betsy, smiling brightly. "Hello everyone!" Betsy cried. "Are you two okay?" asked Kitty. "We're peachy!" Betsy cried. ****** "I did not say peachy, Nathan!" The twelve kids were drowning in their own laughter. "Betsy," said Nate, "You said peachy." "I did not!" Pete took another shot of his scotch. "Yes you did." "I am sorry, Elizabeth," said Ororo. "But I must agree. You did say peachy." "Let's get on with this," said Logan. Nate sighed. "Fine..." ******* "Elizabeth?" asked Ororo. "Are you drunk?" Betsy smiled wider. "Yes. I believe I am." She staggered over to the group. "Hiya, Nate," said Dom. "Whatcha doin?" Nate sighed. "Well, Dom. I'm carrying an unconscious Amanda." "Ya want me ta take 'er, Cable?" Logan asked. "Sure," said Nate, handing her over to Logan. Dom grabbed Nate's ripped collar and pulled him into a long kiss. "Damn," Pete proclaimed. ******* "Tell me Nathan," said Domino, "does the word "couch" mean anything to you?" "I'm just telling it like it is, Dom," Nate replied. "You put a big, passionate wet one right on my lips." Rachel held her hands to her eyes. "Stop!" she cried. "You're gonna give me nightmares!" ****** Kitty sighed. "Can we get going, now?" she asked. "I was gonna do that to Pete when we got out of here." Pete grinned. Nate pulled away from Domino and stared. "Cable?" Logan asked. Nate blinked. "What?" "We have to go now," Logan said. "I suggest you pick Dom up and carry her." "Doesat mean I'm gonna have ta carry Betsy?" asked Pete. "No," said Kitty. "You can carry me." ****** "Great," said Connie. "Now I'm gonna have nightmares." ****** "That means Jono carries Betsy," said Pete. To Kitty's surprise, he began to lift her up. Jono blinked in confusion. "Me?" "I wasn't serious!" Kitty cried. "Put me down!!" Pete whimpered and put Kitty down. He then lifted up Betsy. "Let's go." They moved on and found most of the other X-members. They finally reached the outside of the building where various ambulances, police cars, choppers and news vans were waiting. One of the officers walked up to the group, specifically Pete and Nate. "Are they hurt?" The two men looked at each other. "Nah," Pete replied. "Just unbelievably drunk." The officer nodded. "Is that everyone?" he asked. "Are there still people inside?" Nate shrugged. "These are all the people we knew who were in the building." He gestured to the incredibly large group assembled. "You know all those people?" asked the officer in shock. "Hard to believe, isn't it?" The officer nodded again. "We're going to search the building." Nate nodded. "Sounds like a plan." "Sorry about your party." Nate shrugged. "Hey, the good news is that nobody died. Nobody we know, at least." The group were facing Kitty and Pete. "You were gonna say somethin werencha, Shugah?" asked Rogue. Kitty nodded with a sigh. "Well, I was just about to say that Pete and I are getting married." A teleportation disc appeared above the group, and Illyana popped out, and landed on the ground. Her hair was frazzled, and she had no shoes on. "I get to be the maid of honor!" she called. "Yana," said Doug, "You lost your shoes in the explosion?" Illyana blinked and looked at the quizzical expressions of the people surrounding her. "You could say that," she stuttered. Illyana opened up another teleportation disc, and Bobby stepped out. His hair, too was frazzled, he was missing many parts of the upper half of his tuxedo, and one shoe. "Hey people," he said. "What did I miss>" "Of sorts," said Sam. "Right." ******* Dave was groaning. "Now we're all gonna have nightmares!!" ******* Kitty sighed. "So, that's what I had to say." All the girls conscious began to run after Kitty to start working on details. Many of the men had started to plot Pete's bachelor party. ******* "The end," said Nate. "Go to bed." "Who blew up the building?" asked Serena. Nate paused. "We never bothered to find out," he said. "We were too busy plotting Pete and Kitty's wedding." "I wanna hear that story," said Rachel. "Tomorrow night," said Kitty. "I promise. Now, everybody get to your dorms." The kids grumbled and got up from their places. They left for their dorms. Betsy yawned. "I think I'll turn in," she said. "Peachy." "I'll kill you, Pete. Kill." Pete began to walk casually out of the room. "Yeah, right." Kitty got up. "Wait for me you lousy git. I'm tired too." "I didn't kiss you that night," Domino said to Nate. Nate laughed. "You kissed me just like this..." He leaned in and kissed her. A camera flashed in front of the two. Angela sighed. "It's a Kodak moment." She rushed out of the room and ran out to the dorm. ******* "I can't believe you did that!" cried Jesse. "You're crazy." "Damn straight," Angela said quietly. ******* Logan sighed as he looked out his bedroom window across the way where the sitting room in the kids' dorm was lit. "Yeah. The good news is that nobody died."
