Don't be shy, water us.:) When It is Enough May 25, 1998 I haven't written here since the time Sean wrote here. There it is,his entry right on top of this one. If I told about the things that have been going on you wouldn't believe me. O:ZT happened--our worst dreams made reality. One good thing about all of this is that Monet is finally herself again, it looks like in reality there was never a Monet. What we saw was what two girls wished to become to see if they had some attention paid to them. We figured out that was the reason why Monet had her spells, one of the twins is autistic. Sean, on the other hand, is still a problem; if that isn't enough I have Bobby asking me out. I don't need this, I have enough problems with Sean! I really don't know what is it about that man that makes me so attracted to him. What keeps me interested even when he is so rude to me? Even when he thinks that he is better than me? Why do I love him so much, even when he is with Moira? Even when he tells me that he loves me, but doesn't do anything about it? I think that I'm better off with Bobby than with this back-bone-less-being. He doesn't have the guts to act upon what he says he feels for me. I'm not bothering with him anymore. I'm not. I'm not going to let myself. And what better way to prove it then to take Bobby up on that offer of going on a date? May 30,1998 Well the date was uneventful, which is good, but bad at the same time. I'm still slightly amused by the way Bobby reacted when I accepted his offer to go out. Beast assured me that he was indeed unconscious and not in a corner laughing his ass off. We went to dinner and then a movie, all night long Bobby kept staring at me. I think that he was surprised that I had some other articles of clothing that didn't resemble lingerie and that were not white. The movie was good, but I just couldn't enjoy myself. What the hell is wrong?! I've finally given myself the chance to redo this aspect of myself, to wipe Sean Cassidy from my mind, but I can't. During certain parts of the evening I had to stop myself from calling Bobby 'Sean'. I think that he noticed. This has got to stop. I can't handle the dreams anymore, I end up more tired than before, and the children are definitely noticing that something is not right between the two of us. But one thing is for sure, things cannot get any worse. The Rec Room 8:15 AM June 5, 1998. This is the place where the students come to unwind after a long day of school, normally they do this after school is over. And because of this Emma Frost decides to investigate what the children are doing here and not in their class. "What are you children doing here?" "Well,Miss Frost we are following rule number 15 in the rule book. If by..." "... ten minutes after the class has officially started, and the teacher has not shown, the students can leave the classroom and do whatever they please since this means that they wouldn't be taking that class that day." "Correct. And since Irish wasn't there by 10 after eight we came here." "Miss Frost, is Mister Cassidy alright?" "He is not going to be all right in a few minutes, Paige, if that is what you're asking. Excuse me." And with that a rather peeved Emma Frost left the room in hunt of Sean Cassidy. Jonothon was the one that voiced what was going through all the students minds at that moment. *Good luck, Mr. Cassidy. And hope that that Irish luck holds up against Ms.Frost, 'cause you are going to need it.* Outside of Sean Cassidy's bungalow... ~The nerve of this man. What the hell is he doing that would make him miss one of the classes? This is the man who actually got mad at me because I was two minutes late to one class. The nerve!~ While this mental fight was going on, Emma had entered Sean's bungalow and was heading for his room. When she got there she received a very bad surprise, Sean in bed with Moira. In hindsight she knew that she shouldn't have done what she did, but in hindsight everybody does the correct thing. She busted in with the nastiest smile she could conjure. "My, my, my, Moira, you are such a bad girl. You said you were here to do a medical checkup on the girls, not jump Sean's bones. You liar." "What the hell are ye doing here, woman?!" "Well, Sean, since you failed to show to class I came to see if you were alright. I see that you are. Why don't you two stay in bed, be cozy. The students have already left the classroom and your appointment with them is at 9:00, Moira. Please be there. I don't want to come and see this again, I have a frail stomach. Tata." Even if the words made it seem as if everything was okay this was an outright lie. Right now her heart, that had actually been healing just a bit after Moira's last visit, had decided to do a parachute jump without the parachute atop the Niagara Falls. June 5, 1998 I SPOKE TOO DAMNED SOON, I FOUND SEAN IN BED WITH MOIRA. Emma's office. 9:00 AM June 6, 1998 Sean Cassidy is normally a calm and reasonable man. Right now he felt like neither. After yesterday morning's events, Moira had told him to forget Emma, that she was bound to act like the bitch she was. Sean somehow wasn't as angry as Moira was -- he was worse. How dared that woman speak to him and Moira like that, she had no right. She was going to hear him out. "How can I help you, Sean?" "Don't act like ye don't know, woman. 'Cause ye do. What right did ye have to speak the way ye did yesterday morning to me and Moira?" "What right?!" "Yes, what right?" "My right is the fact that you wrote on my diary that you loved me. And when I go look for you I find you in bed with Moira! Do I have to say anymore? Oh, wait I do have to say more -- to Moira. I have to tell her about what you wrote in my diary." "Don't ye dare." "Oh, why not Sean? You scared that if I tell her, that your reputation as a little saint might be ruined?" "No, I'm scared that you might hurt Moira with this, she is in a very delicate state of health." "Well, you should have thought of that before, don't you think? If you didn't want to hurt her, you should've never started this whole mess in the first place. You've dug your own grave. Excuse me." "Don't ye dare..." "Oh, please, Sean. I just wanted to see how would you react. I'm not that much of a bitch. Just one thing, don't come near me or talk to me if it doesn't involve the children. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to use the phone. Oh, you don't mind staying out of bed tonight, do you?" "Why do ye ask?" "Well I have another date with Bobby tonight, and I need you to watch over the children." "I have no problem with that." "I'm glad, now leave." "With pleasure." *** ~How do I get myself in these things. I'm not going out with Bobby again. What am I going to do? Well I always wanted to see what Boston looked like during the night. I'll do that.~ By 7 o'clock that evening, Emma found herself standing in front of her vanity table, combing out her hair. For some reason, she was stalling to leave. The reason was was that Moira was leaving tonight. Somehow Emma wanted to be there to watch her get into the car with Monet and go to the airport, just to make sure she was gone. Emma smiled evilly as she thought of the incident when Moira had attempted to put herself in quarintine, locking herself away from the rest of the world. Emma would have been happy to shut the cell door for her. She heard Jubilee yelling from the main foyer at the front of the school, screaming about a heavy bag. Emma's anger shot to an unpredictable high at something as stupid as what she predicted was going on. ~Can't she carry her own luggage out to the car?~, Emma thought sourly. She hated Moira, and any reason why would do. 5 minutes, and 15 more deadly thoughts later, Emma was coming into the main foyer. Jubilee was coming inside with Ev, and they were rambling on wildly about a trip. "What are you children taking about?", Emma asked, noticing Moira was nowhere in sight. She still sensed her presence on the grounds, so she wasn't gone yet. "Dr. MacTaggert offered to let us visit Muir Island for a tour of all its stations and equipment sometime." "Oh, please, Ev! It's just a big science station!", Jubilee cracked her gum. "We'll probably have to learn something while we're there, and then do an essay on what we learned when we get back." Everett ignored Jubilee and turned to his headmistress. "Do you think we could arrange a trip sometime next week, Ms. Frost? Please?" Emma sighed inwardly, trying to keep grasp of that last bit of patience that she had. This was just Sean's way to get to see Moira again. How dare he imply his personal business with the kids! Emma, if not being the person she was, would have been choking Sean Cassidy the moment he came down the hall. She didn't, but she was ready to when he spoke. "Of course we can, lad!" Emma closed her eyes slowly and fumed. She was quickly forced to compose herself as a bag came flying down the flight of stairs in the foyer. It hit Emma's legs with enough force to push her sideways and make her stumble. Everett grabbed her before she could fall, and she stared at the bag in disbelief. She looked up at Moira, who was coming down the stairs, and felt motivated to whack her right in her fake apologetic face. "A'm so sorry,Emma! Are ye alright?" "Just dandy." "Alright, then, just as long as yuir okay." ~I'll kill you,you little--~ "Ready to go, Dr. MacTaggert?" "A suppose as ready as A'll ever be." "Wait a minute," Monet interceded. "Why don't we let Ms. Frost take Dr. MacTaggert to the airport. She's heading that way, and it saves me a trip." Both Moira, Emma and Sean glared at Monet, but neither Moira or Emma would be defeated so easily. Moira shrugged and Emma nodded. Sean was inwardly praying to whatever God there might be that Emma would keep her mouth shut. "Well, good, then! That saves me from having to go!" Monet began to walk towards the rec. room since she was no longer needed. Everett followed, and behind him was Jubilee. ~Have fun, Ms.Frost!~, Jubilee sent to Emma, before running to catch up with her peers. Emma made a mental note to put Jubilee near the top of her 'People to Kill' list, right beneath Monet. Sean carried Moira's last two bags out to the car, while Emma wasted no time to get in the driver's seat and bang her head down on the steering wheel. "Not feeling well tonight,Emma?" Sean grinned as he placed Moira's bag in the back. "I'm feeling quite well tonight, Sean. Thank you for your consideration." Emma turned the mirror to her and took another look at her flawless face. She applied a bit more blush to the left side of her face when she noticed she couldn't see Sean or Moira. ~Too much to ask if they disappeared, I guess, right?~ She looked around, and then saw them behind the raised trunk door of the car, kissing like there was no tomorrow. Emma groaned, and turned back to the mirror. She finished putting on her blush rather quickly, because she could see Sean's taunting stare looking at her through the mirror. She sighed as Moira climbed into the passenger seat. Sean leaned in the window and gave Moira one more goodbye kiss. "Bye." "Bye, luv. A'll miss ye." "Me, too." "Oh, God, I think I'm going to lose my lunch." Emma sighed again, rolling her eyes. Sean and Moira said one last goodbye, and Emma pulled out of the driveway. ~Please don't let her say a word to me.~ It was too late. Moira looked over at Emma. "I've noticed, Emma, that Sean's a wee bit upset. Would you have any idea why?" *** Jubilee practically tackled Rahne upon arriving at Muir Island a week later. Rahne morphed into her wolf form and went sprawling backwards along with Jubilee. Everett and Angelo looked at each other, both ready to make a comment, but decided against it as Jono shook his head. *I wouldn't even try it.* As Emma stepped off the boat, she was oblivious to all of it. She walked right past Ev and Angelo, and stood next to Monet. Rahne untangled herself from Jubilee and offered to show them all to their rooms. Still, through all this, Emma was quiet. When they came to Emma's room, she went inside, shutting the door, still saying nothing. Sean's room 11:25 AM June 14, 1998 Sean stared out the window. Emma had been quiet all morning. She hadn't said one word since she'd uttered the words "Ready to go?" as they had finished packing the cars to go to the airport this morning. It wouldn't have worried him usually...but he was a bit worried that his rudeness to Emma all this week would result in Emma tattling. He threw those thoughts from his mind. She wouldn't dare, she was hooked on him too much. He finished putting away his clothes, forgetting his thoughts of Emma Grace Frost. They'd be here for at least three days-- how long it takes to tour the whole place,at the least-- so he had plenty of time to think. He fell back on the bed, the total bliss of silence taking over him. Silence. ~Emma has been too quiet this whole trip.~ Again, he shook her image from his mind. Something similiar to this continued for 3 minutes, before Sean decided the only way to keep her off his mind was to go see Moira. He took the gift he'd gotten her out of his suitcase and left his room. Moira would be ecstatic when she saw it. ~And when Moira's happy...I'm happy.~ Emma's room 11:36 AM June 14, 1998 Emma had almost not come. She had no reason to be here... except for the fact that she was going to be sure to make Sean's stay as miserable as she could. No running off with Moira half the time, doing only God knows what. ~Except I know exactly what they're doing.~ Emma mused, darkly. ~Two can play at this game. He wants to make me miserable, I'll do the same thing to him. He won't be able to get me off his mind, just like he's been doing to me for only God knows how long.~ She leaned back in her chair, smiling risquely. No, Sean was not going to use this trip as an excuse to knock Moira up senseless. She was going to make sure of that. Sure, he could do whatever he wanted when he wasn't needed to watch the kids, or follow them up on a lesson about something they might have to review. ~That is if he doesn't go mad first, thinking about me. And once past that, he's still got Moira to deal with in case he... slips.~ Emma giggled slightly to herself, before beginning to unpack her belongings. She wanted to be in the room when it finally hit Sean. Moira's lab 11:42 AM June 14, 1998 When Sean arrived to find Moira looking extremely busy, he thought of backing out and coming back later. But he decided it better he stay, and maybe he could pull her away from her work for a while, at least so she could even realize he was there. He tapped lightly on the door frame, and without even turning away, she muttered a quick "Come in". He stood in the doorway, a bit surprised, but dismissed it and stood there, expecting her to turn around. After a few minutes of silence and no eye contact, he spoke up. "Moira." "Dia dhuit, Sean. Can I help ye?" she asked coldly. It sent a chill down Sean's back. He really hadn't meant to interrupt her, but he'd really been counting on seeing her. "I didn't mean t'interrupt yuir work, but I've been standing here for a minute or two. Ye didn't seem to notice me." "A knew ye were there." "Well I didn't think so... ye didn't pay me much mind." "And I dinnae plan to, either," Moira said, arranging some glass tubes into their holders. "What's that t'mean?" Moira said nothing. "Well I brought ye something," Sean said, smiling, trying to make the best of the situation. "I dinnae want yuir gifts, Sean. Now get outta my way, yuir makin' me lose me concentration." Sean stood there, awestruck. What had he done? Was she really THAT busy? "Moira, what's wrong with ye?" "Ooh, ye want t'know what's wrong with me? Maybe ye should ask yuir dear Emma." "What? What are ye talkin' about?" "Ye know fine and well what I'm talkin' aboot, Sean Cassidy, don't act like A'm a fool t'yuir game." "Moira, I sware, I have no idea what ye--" "Oh, dinnae be such a liar! Ye think I wouldn't find out? Did ye think I was that naive? Aye, I've 'ad me suspicions, but A trusted ye! I dinnae ever think it'd be true!" "Moira, what are ye--" "What ye told Emma, is what A'm on aboot, Sean Cassidy!" Sean probably turned a pale chalky white at that moment, but Moira couldn't see with her eyes to the floor. Sean shifted his weight to the other foot, which was just as limp as the other one, gone dead at Moira's words. Words flew threw his mind, trying to find something to say. An apology? An excuse? A lie? Another lie? "A didn't like the idea of ye being around her constantly anyway. But A said t'meself everytime, 'Moira, dinnae be unfair. Calm down and give it another chance'. Ooh, Sean, what have ye done t'me? A-A trusted ye, and now this..." "Moira, A'm sorry..." "Yuir sorry? YE are SORRY? Oh, not half as sorry as yuir gonna be!" "Please, Moira, let me explain!" "Explain? Why did ye nae do it earlier? At least ye could've had the DECENCY t'tell me! But instead ye hid it from me! Just get out, Sean, I dinnae want t'see yuir face." "Moira, please--" "Get OUT!" Sean hesitantly left, the automatic steel doors closing just as soon as he'd cleared the doorway. Moira heard the cold snap they brought as they closed, and she turned towards them, daring them to utter another sound. She saw Sean had left the blue and white box on a table near the door. Moira slowly walked over, opening it. She unwrapped it to find a wooden jewelry box, with one lone silver necklace, donning a heart at the end of it. If it hadn't been unbearable enough, as she opened the door more on the jewelry box to take the necklace out, a song began to play. Moira was faced with the song 'Love Story' and almost lost her heart in her throat at that moment. But instead she just broke into tears, the necklace still in her hands, and the music still playing. *** * 'Just get out, Sean, I dinnae want t'see yuir face.' Oh God, what have I done! I've lost Moira and I'm pretty sure I'm going to loose Emma. This is what happens when I don't decide. I have to find Emma... I have to do something. She isn't in her room so where the hell can she be? I'll go ask the children, they should know. But where are they?* *** "Man, this is sooo great! Here we all are, taking a mini vacation! This is definitely what I had in mind." "This ain't a vacation, Jubilee, we are here to study." "Paige is right. I wonder if Dr. Mctaggert is going to show us her work in the cure for the Legacy Virus?" Everett said, falling into a chair. "I don't know if mummy would do that, but it won't harm to ask." Rahne sat staring outside through the huge glass window that made for a wall in the room."Hello, Mr. Cassidy, how are ye this beautiful evening?" She smiled at him as he came in. "Not too well, Rahne. Have any of ye children seen Emma?" *I saw her outside by the cliffs.* "Thank ye, lad." *And here it comes.* "Here comes what, Jono?",Sean asked as he began to leave. *I don't know but it's going to be bad. I just know it's going to be bad.* *** Things were not well with Emma. She had "heard" the fight between Sean and Moira, but instead of being happy because Sean was now miserable beyond belief, she was even more unhappy. *Maybe it has to do with the fact that Sean is hurting.* But why should she care? He more that deserved it, after double crossing her and Moira. Maybe she did love him after all... "Em, can we talk?" "What do you want to talk about, Sean?" "Emma, I'm sorry that I hurt ye and--" "And you want for us to kiss and make up. Wake up and smell the shit. Things are not going to be alright with an apology. Sean you played me for a fool, something I don't take kindly to be being! I can't believe that I actually believed what you wrote." "I sware I meant every word!" "Oh, really? What magnificient way to show it! BY NOT SAYING ANYTHING TO MOIRA AND MAKING ME THINK THAT YOU WOULD ACTUALLY BREAK UP WITH HER!" "Em, please. Let me explain." "You will not explain anything to me. Do you understand? Don't talk to me." Emma ran a hand through her hair. "I don't think you realize, Sean Cassidy, just how angry I am at you. Being a fool is not in my character, I refuse to take such treatment from you." "We'll talk when we get back to the academy... when we're a bit more calmed down." "I don't think so." "Why d'ye mean?" "I mean that you are not going to stay at the academy. I might allow you a few days stay until you find some other place to stay, but you won't stay at the academy anymore." "Ye can't do that!" "And why not? You tried to throw me out, and it is MY school!" "T'is the way ye want t'play it?!" "Yes, it is." "Fine, don't worry I'll leave now, so by the time ye and the children arrive I'll be already gone. Good bye, Em." "Good bye... Sean." She knew that her tears would flow in vast quantities later but right now she wasn't going to show him how much it hurt her to have lost him. To have let him go free.
